Volunteer Experience

I have been so fortunate to have been able to volunteer for so many wonderful organizations. The main areas I have volunteered in have been environmentally focused. I have put 45 hours into the UCF Arboretum helping in projects like pollination, farming and gardening, and general maintenance (ex: repotting plants that need to be rejuvenated). I have also done numerous road cleanups and beach clean-ups with IDEAS UCF which is an environmental advocacy organization that has sustainability and educational events in hopes of creating a more eco-friendly community. I have also volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank sorting differing produce into their respected places.

Work Experience

Up to this point I have worked at jobs to help me network around the Orlando community. I have worked as a Camp Counselor at the RDV Sportsplex, a sports camp for kids in Maitland, Florida. The RDV taught me basic skills of adaptability and how to deal with stressful situations. I think as a future attorney, the pressure will be extremely high in certain situations, so having these skills not only makes a great leader but make a qualified attorney. Additionally to the RDV Sportsplex, I have worked at Planet Fitness, a gym close to the University of Central Florida on Alafaya. This job taught me a lot about myself and how to deal with difficult situations and rude people. This will also be a skill very necessary for an attorney to possess, being that in some cases there will be disputes between clients that will not be easy to solve. In the future, I hope to start getting internships and job opportunities that will be helpful to my career, such as an internship with the Conservation Coalition in Washington D.C or applying for the University of Central Florida's legislative scholar program. The Legislative Scholar program lets students experience hands-on what it is like to work in an official government setting as they get to work one on one with District Florida Representatives. The last work opportunity I am thinking of perusing is working with the Orange County Office under their sustainability branch as an intern to gain true experience about Florida environmental law procedures and regulations.

Leadership Experience

Throughout the course of my time at the University of Central Florida, I have been involved many with participatory experiences. I am involved with the Wetlands Club along with the American Sign Language Club as the Vice President. I have learned a lot from these two experiences which encouraged me to get an internship with IDEAS for US (the UCF Branch) standing up for environmental issues which I am very passionate about. I hope to the GLEB club (Global Legal Empowerment) at UCF and expand my leadership opportunities and professional experiences in the future!
